HOW TO START A RADIO FROM NOTHING

First, there was an irresistible drive to re-start a radio. Then came the inspiration for a faraway place in the south of Italy. By following our instincts, we arrived at Villa Paciugo as volunteers. All fine for us: the place was perfect and the people willing and enthusiastic about Domenico’s radio project idea. Just like that, with Eliana’s help, we drove 300 km and back  and got most of the material to start off. As we arrived back at Villa Paciugo, a big surprise was waiting for us. While we were gone, Michele had built the broadcast control room with wooden poles attached by rope, pallets, and straw. At this stage, there was no joke anymore. The radio had to start.

Between wonders about bioconstruction, wild audio recordings in nature, and getting a mass of people together to help, we set out to finish the cob house. For weeks we were basically covered in mud. 

Then, an old Big Top picked up for next to nothing, a stage for the live radio concerts made out of pallets, before digging into the complicated world of electronic audio equipment and those nasty extra-long cables. Winter arrived! But by then, nothing could stop us, and nothing will!. Let the show begin!! Listen to our programs!!!
